Higher standards

"What I like about UPSM is that each and every instructor cares about the children - and it shows. My daughter is definitely a reflection of the energy around her. I absolutely love the school."
Chiketa Smith

"Michigan's future, as well as America's, rests on our ability to produce a globally-competitive generation of scientists and engineers. UPSM High School will set a new standard for science, math, and technology education in Southeast Michigan."
Dr. James Duderstadt
President Emeritus and Professor of Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan.

Presentations of Learning (POL) are oral presentations providing each student with the opportunity to practice his or her presentational style, while demonstrating mastery of the recently completed curriculum.  Students are encouraged to present in a creative and interactive fashion before an audience of their peers and members of UPSM learning community.

Why are presentations so important in today’s business environment?  Properly executed and in the right context, they can inform, motivate and convince more effectively than any other single form of communication.  Presentational skills are sought-after by employers. UPSM engages students in the practice of presentation from an early age, ensuring that this all-important proficiency is part of the student’s tool box for real-world success.
